Chauffix’s core purpose is connecting vehicle owners with professional chauffeurs who are available nearby. Without access to chauffeurs’ current or live location, you may be unable to find or be matched with any chauffeur within your proximity, because proximity-based discovery and assignment depend on accurate, up-to-date driver position.

On our mobile apps, chauffeur location is collected under foreground (“while in use”) location permissions and, when chauffeurs are actively on duty and tracking is enabled, through a foreground location session that keeps an ongoing, visible notification on supported platforms (for example Android). That allows position updates to continue reliably while you wait for or perform bookings—even if you switch to another app or turn off the screen—without relying on separate “all the time” / Android background location permission for our standard chauffeur experience. We use location only for essential platform operations (such as showing availability and proximity to owners, and supporting safety and service delivery tied to active trips), not for unrelated purposes.

The app explains this in a prominent disclosure before the system asks for location access where required by app store policies. Chauffeur location is integral to our core functionality: without live updates during active service, the experience of finding a nearby chauffeur is unreliable. Users would reasonably expect that, while drivers are on duty and notifications indicate active tracking, the platform reflects who is available and nearby.
